BMW Oracle replies to Alinghi statement
Statement of Tom Ehman, Jr.
Spokesperson, Golden Gate Yacht Club
10-30-08
We have offered repeatedly to drop our lawsuit if Alinghi commits to fair rules, and our offer still stands. We would like nothing better than to have a fully competitive multi-challenger America’s Cup on the water by 2010. We stand ready and willing to meet with Alinghi and all of the other competitors to discuss the future of the Cup, but without unreasonable pre-conditions.

Hello.....Hello Tom....Hello...
Time to wake up and smell the roses.
Pay attention man.
Get on the phone and ask to join in. Ball is in your court or you'll be left outside the back door.
Withdraw your law suit, then come and talk.
That's what it says.
Not come talk and then decide if you want to drop.
Drop it.
Well said.
But this situation will stand still as it is for a lot of time, if Bertarelli will not really withdraw his wills to "own" the cup, instead of challanging his opponents it in a fair way.
And this is the real difficult point of all this stupid "querelle".
This is not Tom's decision. He knows what is right but so do the power players.
Tom is the biggest reason the Cup will survive with integrity instead of in Ernesto's fantasy-land.
EB has no clue what the Cup is really all about. Yet.
How can we forget history sooo quick?
The only reason Bertarelli is having these discussions is due to the Law suits. Sounds to me like if you remove the law suit, the pressure is off & the Egotists with the money do what they want.
Your "not unreasonable pre-conditions" are going to leave you left in the cold. 11 teams are now working constructively towards achieving a goal, while you continue to sit outside the sandbox like a spoiled child demanding to have your own way. Who do you think you are? I am looking very forward to these 11+ teams getting this Cup on the water, with You literally "missing the boat" and not being apart of any of it!!!
