BMW Oracle's BOR90 first sail with the wing
The BOR 90 was taken for a spin in San Diego on Tuesday with her revolutionary wing sail, just a few days after suffering a serious dismasting incident. From what one could observe from the live webcam, courtesy of FOX 5 San Diego, it appears everything went alright. The official press release will certainly come when everyone's asleep in Valencia but in the meantime, here's the first picture from no other than Gilles Martin-Raget, the team's star photographer.
Would I be lying if I said I can't wait to see the two giant multihulls racing off the beach of Malvarosa in three months?

Why do they need to speed up the video?
Looks like if the Burj al Arab Hotel in Dubai is gone for a sailingtrip ;-)
I agree - my first thought (apart from holy cow!) was it looks like the Burj al Arab hotel. Except the hotel is slightly smaller!
Not very pretty, but quite amazing.
But is it a sloop rig as described in the CHR certificate?
The Burj Dubai has it all. Along with the residences Burj Al Arab have to offer, there are fabulous amenities like, a cigar club, restaurants, four luxury swimming pools, an observation platform, 15,000 sq ft of space for just fitness, a library, a residents lounge and corporate suites.
hey, burj, buy an ad you a-hole.
