33rd America's Cup - Day 1 - Dockout: Yeah, baby yeah, the Cup at last is about to start
Greetings from dark Valencia. It's 7am and the two giant multihulls are already on their way to the race course. Given the distance between the bases of the two teams I had to choose where to watch the dockout. On the opening day, I opted for the Defender. It a was quite a low-key event at the Alinghi base and before I knew it, Alinghi 5 was docking out.
The forecast still calls for light westerly winds but as we have seen in the last few days, even with 5 knots of breeze these monsters fly. We'll obviously update as soon as we get more info.
Alinghi Forecast:
WSW wind 5-12 knots
Cloudy
Possible rain
12°c Max
