Video: First stage of AC45 production in Warkworth, New Zealand

Iain Murray, the newly-appointed CEO of ACRM, has paid a visit to New Zealand and the Core Builders facility where work is underway on the first AC45 catamaran.

The first boat is due to be launched before Christmas, with initial sea trials are planned immediately afterward. Representatives from potential challengers to the 34th America's Cup will be invited to participate.

The video below was shot with Iain during his visit to Core Builders in Warkworth, New Zealand.

Nice to see some boat-builders in work finally.

Of course - BC (before Coutts) - there were easily between 300 to 500 directly employed composite boat-builders involved in Cup activity.

Now it appears there are 35.

Thanks SrRsHle.

My question is what will happen when only few Team get into this joke ...plus they get only 30% of the attention of the sailing world ( 70% are straight forward with a Mono hull ). I personally took a Nap watching the Little AC . Spithill did better starts and got over stood so easily in the downwind Legs that was like a joke . So how is possible that Russel says it will be close racing ...which is the key part of an interesting Match Race

Interesting how a neutral management is posing in front of BOR banners and how all builders are dressed BOR. Neutrality only exist in the Coutts press releases. Another failure coutts. Go home.

come on, this is major BS (and you know it):
BMWOracle is the defender of the AC. Why should they pretend not to be part of this opreation. In contrast they prodly show their involvment and have every right to do so!

Boatbuilders wear whatever they find at the bottom of the bed. Who cares what team they have or have not worked for in the past. And let every team put their poster up on the wall. Good to see boat building industry staying afloat.Thank you Larry.

BMWO has said from day one that they would be building the majority of AC45's for the teams to get started. So whats the big deal that BMWO's two main guys in the boat shed are front and center in this videa, and those working are wearing BMWO gear?

As the saying goes in the States:

Haters gonna HATE!

By the way:
Mascalzone is not a challenger. It's Orcale "B" team. It's worse than the CNEV story...
