Itway Match Race Team training with Shosholoza

Matteo and Luca Simoncelli from the italian Itway Match Race Team joined the Shosholoza Team in Cape Town, South Africa, for an intense match race focused training session in the first days of the year 2006.

The training sessions were held in Cape Town and Simons Town at the Izivunguvungu base. The helmsman Ian Ainslie and the afterguard of the South African challenger have been battling hard against the italian team, former two times italian champ and top ten of the world, in an intent to gain confidence with the match race discipline and improve specific skills.

Strong south westerly winds have made the event very spectular and have proven the sailing skills from both teams. Matteo Simoncelli is not new to team Shosholoza, having joined in Trapani as a match racing coach and rules advisor.
