Louis Vuitton Cup - Round Robin 1 - Day 13: Preview

Good morning from cold and rainy Valencia. Will day 13 of the Louis Vuitton Cup be the lucky one and finally allow us to put an end to Round Robin 1 that lasted twice as long as initially planned? Unfortunately, it doesn't seem so, at least according to the early morning weather forecasts.

Given the fact that yesterday's races in the north race area were all completed, today's schedule is action-packed and could be by far the most exciting day in this challenger selection series. It is difficult to comment on the individual matches as all results are possible. Obviously, the race between BMW Oracle and Emirates Team NZ is the most important but the outcomes of all the races will weigh strongly on the leaderboard. The locals, Desafío Español, will face Luna Rossa and BMW Oracle. In the Italian derby, if Mascalzone Capitalia manage to beat Luna Rossa, their chances for the semifinals will dramatically improve.

Weather Forecast
A couple of hours after the end of racing on Friday, a short heavy shower hit Valencia and rain was present throughout the best part of the night. The official forecast for Saturday expects a continuation of the phenomena. In the wake of a trough of low pressure, we should expect light winds and risk of rain. The winds will be mainly northeastern 5-7 knots. Skies will be cloudy for most of the day with risk of rain at times.

These are far from encouraging prospects and we might be in for yet another long day of waiting.
