TP52 Alicante Trophy - Day 5: Lack of wind cancels races; Bribón wins the event

Unfortunately, weather forecasts this morning were overly optimistic. Instead of the expected 8 knots that never materialized, the race committee was forced to deal with an extremely shifty and weak breeze. After an initial postponement, the preparatory signal was given but the committee boat end of the start line was so much more favored than the pin end that a general recall was given twice. More than half of the yachts were over the line.

Adding insult to injury, soon after the second canceled start, winds died down completely and the race committee had no other option than send the boats back ashore when the 3pm limit expired.

Since there was no racing today, the general classification remained unchanged and Bribón is declared winner of the Alicante Trophy, followed by Mean Machine and Mutua Madrileña.
