GGYC is "pleased" with today's hearing and expects court order "soon"

[Source: Golden Gate Yacht Club] New York, NY -- January 14, 2008: The Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) said today it is pleased the court order giving effect to the November 27 decision in its favor is expected to be made soon.

Justice Herman Cahn of the New York State Supreme Court today heard further arguments on the order and scheduled a hearing for January 23. GGYC expects the Court will sign the order either then or shortly afterwards.

“We were very pleased with today,” Tom Ehman, the club’s spokesman said. “Justice Cahn clearly has a thorough understanding of the issues. We are confident the Court’s decision of November 27 will be enforced in the order leading to a Deed of Gift regatta in October, 2008.”

you are so right. it is so very typical american. they are always feel the right to fight what they do not understand. until it is too late. bush is the best representative for this country. they should be ashamed of themselves. this is about sailing - not about being in charge no matter what- even when losing... sad sad sad.

The Swiss are cheating, trying to rig the cup. Greed and hubris abound in their defiance of the Deed of Gift.. It was the Bertolli who said that he cannot lose, he has the best lawyers. The Americans appealed to the rule of law and won, the Swiss are stalling. The court has spoken, the Americans are ready to sail in October. Who is afraid to settle the matter on the water now?

yes it is sad that they do not realize they need to defer to all europeans no matter how bad the behavior, and not resist in a pointless attempt to seek fair treatment.

all that matters is what you can get away with, not what's right.

courts? laws? rules? pah! those are only for helping euros, not gringos.
