The BMW Oracle trimaran arrives in San Diego

Here's the first set of pictures from our friend Goli in San Diego. The trimaran has, obviously, been seen and photographed many times since its launch but it is still interesting to notice that there was hardly any effort being made by BMW Oracle to hide the yacht.

couldn't all this "dogzilla" stuff be just a huge smoke screen from the bmw/oracle folks? might be a good reason for the complete lack of secrecy. conspiracy theory anyone?

Hi Norberto. I think this is a way of showing Alinghi and BMW that they don't need them to hold a 'sure to be' successful event. I am hacked that BMW Oracle are participating as they are one of the reasons why all of the other teams are out of work (even though I do agree the new protocol sucked). They should sit back and let it to the others and concentrate on their own silly little DOG race. Just greedy really.

Sorry, that comment I just sent for Norberto was more about the Louis Vuitton article. But yes about the trimaran, I think the racing will be so boring - up down up down finished before you know it - YAWN. Go the sailing in Auckland!

We were on the water this past Saturday, as we sailed past Point Loma, we could see a large Tri South of us. There she was. they did not dust the sails to much, and seemed to have issued hoisting the main, unless they were just careful increasing the sail load. But that gave us an opportunity to watch her at close range and shoot close up pictures.
She is an amazing boat and from what I read, we should be able to see her again since she is scheduled to do sea trials in San Diego for a couple of months here is a link to the pictures http://gadeyne-us.spaces.live.com
