GOLDENGATE YACHT CLUB FILES APPEAL BRIEF
SETTLEMENT OFFER STILL ON TABLE
GGYC spokesperson Tom Ehman said, “At their meeting this weekend, Larry Ellison and Ernesto Bertarelli agreed to continue discussions that could bring an end to this legal battle. However, no dates for further meetings have been set, and we do not expect an immediate resolution. Today, we filed our appeal brief with the New York State Court of Appeals to meet the Court’s deadline.
“Our offer still stands: we will withdraw our appeal to the New York Court of Appeals if Mr. Bertarelli agrees to return to a multi-challenger event for the 33rd America’s Cup with fair and competitive rules similar to those used for AC32.”

At least if we use the old protocol we are all in with a chance.
GGYC are not the heroes in this, even if they drop the suit. The damage has already been done.
Alinghi should compromise with Oracle, for the rest of the teams and people, though Oracle should have never opned their mouths in the first place. The other teams will hate Oracle even more than we all did last time.

People will hate oracle for trying to make the AC actually slightly winnable again? Under Alinghi's rules no challenger would EVER have been able to win the AC. And if the other teams hate oracle why did 7 teams sign a document saying alinghi's protocols were biast and totally unfair? GGYC ARE the hereos in this, as under Alinghi's regime the image of the AC would have been lost forever..The AC would have lost all its glory. Oracle are doing their best to restore this...
Whichever side you're on, the most important is for the AC to start sailing again.
No matter the rules, the important is the greatness of the teams of sailors out there on the water. All of these sailors have proven they were top class sailors in many different other challenges, let them sail the America's Cup again!!!
