Golden Gate Yacht Club Statement

The Golden Gate Yacht Club and its team, BMW ORACLE Racing, remain committed to negotiate with the Defender, Société Nautique de Genève/Alinghi, a conventional mutual consent protocol for the next America's Cup that would involve all teams.

This follows the April 2 decision of the New York State Court of Appeals confirming the Golden Gate Yacht Club as the Challenger of Record for the 33rd America's Cup.

BMW ORACLE Racing's owner, Larry Ellison, and the President of Alinghi, Ernesto Bertarelli, have communicated with each other since the court ruling.

At this stage the club believes it is best to keep communications between the parties private in the interests of reaching a successful conclusion as quickly as possible.

Nice of LE to press pause on his plans for total world domination through the use of lawyers to finally return EB´s/Alinghi´s repeated communication efforts...
Moving forward? I´ll believe it when I see it.

Larry and Russell have to be seen to be trying to negotiate - but I'm betting that BMW Oracle won't agree to anything Alinghi puts on the table. Larry and BMW Oracle have never been closer to "The Precious". They want a DoG race.

and the other way around..

Uncle Larry will continue to distort the truth until "he has no option but Dogzilla Race" which does NOTHING for the AC. They are now at exactly the same point they were before with only a lot of time, jobs and sponsorships lost. And again LE will not agree to anything, putting the blame on Allinghi. Funny thing is that in the end BOR will loose anyway, so it all is for nothing

Alinghi has nightmares to race against its former skipper... full stop

PowerYachts .... you are talking about the Russel Couts who hasn't won one thing last year? The one who was trampled to death last year? The same one who didn't win a thing in Australia?

Oh yeah, the whole world is REALLY afraid of him.

RC is OLD NEWS,. a HAS BEEN! Just like uncle Larry ...... :)

Poweryacht,
have you noticed that Alinghi beat its former skipper 3 times out of 3last February in NZ? And also in Cowes in the IShares multihulls last year!
Alinghi can beat it's former skipper in any boat and any place... full stop

Norberto, "real sailor" (????): jealousy is a bad thing. Are you not afraid? Right but you will. Your friend Ernesto will.

Calling a sailor that has won the AC 3 times a "HAS BEEN" sums up your credibility.

Hopefully both sides will do whats right and work out a MC event for all to enjoy but something tells me EB and the Greasers are to far along on CheesZilla to be swayed from using it.

Oh, yes, really afraid of the big bad Russel Couts. The same one who hasn't won one thing since he got canned by Allinghi.

There is one big difference between Allinghi and BOR: the first one is getting better, while BOR is getting worse with the left overs from Allinghi.

Shows the stupidity of uncle Larry: he thinks he can win with talent that has been fired from other teams. Why has Coutts been fired? Ever thought about THAT? Oh, yeah, he was fired because he sailed too good ..... he is such a great sailor, yeah, we forgot!

Are you serious? Coutts (notice I spelled his last name correctly) got paid a nice sum of money while shown the door at Alinghi, and EB and the Greasers created a rule with the sole purpose of keeping Coutts from joining another team for AC32. And besides RC-44 success, BMWO entered one event, ONE, during last years Med Cup circuit and finished first. Yeah Coutts is washed up.

WetHogie, you truly have a great gift: the gift to look at the facts and twist them they way you want. Just a quick correction: Coutts (and uncle Larry) finished 5. (that is fifth!!) in the RC44 cup last year, beaten by four private teams who don't have any of the resources that LE has.

So much for your hero world class AC skipper. Remember, he was fired by Allinghi because he didn't produce!
