Court Affirms February 2010 for 33rd America’s Cup

[Source: Golden Gate Yacht Club] Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich in the Supreme Court of the State of New York today upheld an earlier decision of the NY Court of Appeals to stage the America's Cup in February 2010.

"Today's hearing should end any further delay to the 33rd America's Cup and we can now look forward to some exciting racing in state-of-the-art boats early next year," Tom Ehman, GGYC spokesman, said following the hearing.

On April 7, 2009, the New York State Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that GGYC is the rightful Challenger of Record and that the next match would be in ten months - early February 2010.

However, in an April 23 letter to GGYC, Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) sought to unilaterally dictate that the match date be delayed to May 2010 in defiance of the Court, which triggered a motion to hold SNG in contempt of court.

let's wait and see what Alinghi says. Usually, they are 180 degrees from GGYC perception. Shall they say that "today's hearing should confirm that the DoG Match will take place in May 2010"?

Order will say -

1. SNG race in Feb
2. GGYC needs to get CHR ASAP but no date requested. Judge will state stick to the NoC measurements.
3. 1 week to get a mediator

NY courts don't want to see these guys again but CVG sent a letter today to GGYC that has all the markings of SNG pushing CVG to file of a lawsuit.

Well lets see Alinghi and there new speed machince take on a very average looking BOR tri. If that is what they are goimg to sail. BOR stop cheating by not giving the certificate of vessel. I guess if BOR loose on the water they will just go back to court anyway.
Larry must have spent almost a billion dollars trying to win the cup over three atempts. At least now he is in the final. So I think he will stop at nothing to get the cup.
