Green Comm secures new sponsor

[Source: Green Comm] SIMtone Corporation, a privately held company delivering Universal Computing, today announced that it is sponsoring the Green Comm Challenge, also known as Circolo di Vela Gargnano-lago di Garda, a team that recently submitted its challenge in the 33rd America’s Cup Race. As a technical partner, SIMtone’s Universal Computing platform will allow the Green Comm Challenge team to access data, applications and information services from the cloud, on demand and on the fly, on water and land.

SIMtone is one of several technical partners including Sofinnova and Wave Group. The technical and research team is being led by Professor Mario Gerla with UCLA’s Computer Science Department and Professor Giovanni Lombardi with the Department of Engineering at University of Pisa, in cooperation with Polytechnic of Turin.

“We are delighted to support the first America’s Cup boat driven by a world-changing innovation and scientific mission and completely aligned with our vision” said Mario Dal Canto, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of SIMtone Corporation.

“SIMtone transforms computing into a low cost service usable anywhere, via any network, with non processing devices, radically reducing end to end power consumption and the overall carbon footprint. SIMtone will make Green Comm "go faster" by eliminating complexity in the organization and by enabling the entire team to work together simply and safely everywhere. And with SIMtone, the only carbon involved with the Green Comm challenge will be in the hull!”

“With SIMtone’s simple to use yet massively scalable network computing solution, we are able to minimize our information systems carbon footprint while delivering un-matched performance, mobility and flexibility to the team of the Green Comm Challenge on demand, anywhere they need it” stated Lorenzo Rizzardi, President of Circolo di Vela Gargnano.

More court bullshit is in our future thanks to these Green folk and it will be blamed on BMWO. When if fact these Green folk are the newest incarnation of the AC33 group of 18 poodles. An Alinghi creation. EB is Italian by birth is he not? lol

Why all this rage ? Let's give the Italian Challenge its chances and let's see if they are real and serious by what they accomplish on the water if given a fair chance !!
BMWO and Alinghi should not be afraid .....

Just seems funny that this "challenge" appears right around the time BMWO is officially named the COR. Now if the Green guys would of showed up a year or so ago, then maybe they deserve credibility. But the timing of this "challenge" says to me its nothing more than a creation of EB and his band of merry men. These are the same folk that brought us the +39 challenge after all.

Enough said.

If they are already getting sponsors they may be more serious than someone here thinks. Why should they not be allowed to race ??
Because of BMWO and EB games and egos ? Come on....stop this crap !

9:48 & 10:19 - SNG has the chance to go for a MC in mono which was on the table from GGYC since day 1. SNG refused, hence we are in DoG mode so no other challengers can be accepted.

If SNG wants to go to a MC in mono's, GGYC would probably go for provided the protocol was far as it gets 20 teams on the water.

Think about it BOR has almost 2 years of expenses & a $10M+ tri that they were ready to eat in SNG said yes to a MC in mono's. Who's the bad guy once again?

Folks need to asked SNG why they refused a MC. 20 teams were ready to get off their asses to race but SNG killed them all except a GGYC a strong & well qualified CoR for a MC in mono's.

Check the photo Pierre and Sailors of the AC community!
Bad job with PhotoShop! The two boss of Green Com, are in Valencia at the +39 base with ITA 85 on the back that was cancelled, in a poor way same as the logo of Green Com copy and paste on the wall.
If this is the high technology that Mr. De Leo wants to show to the World, probably the new multihull will the Tornado, not 90 *90 but only 20 *11 feet!
So Green Com = +39 Challenge, same people (Mr. Rizzardi) different team name.
President and CEO first pay previous the debt and only after speaks of sponsor and technology and Italian Universities like Pisa and Torino, that must have the only scope to teach to the guys not to loose time with the money of the Italian Nation !
