Artist’s impression of the new Alinghi multihull

[Source: Alinghi] This is an artist’s impression of the new Alinghi multihull being built in Villeneuve, Switzerland. The illustration compares the approximate size and aspect of the new boat to the AC Class V5.0 yacht which won the 32nd America's Cup in Valencia and the Décision 35 which races on Lake Geneva.

This impression is purely for reference, but with the launch of the multihull only a matter of weeks away, it gives an idea of the boat that will start sailing on Lake Geneva this July and can be used to illustrate articles and stories before the actual launch.

From the side it sure looks a lot like the BOR90. Of course the "artist" is holding things back, but looking at this it doesn't look "revolutionary" as some said it would be. Those same people said the BOR90 was "nothing special, just a larger version of something already been tried". Good looking boat though.

And I wonder where in Switzerland Alinghi is building that huge mast....

That is a joke being played by Alinghi. It is a Dogzilla hull in the picture!

Upon further review it would appear this artist rendering is merely a copy of the BOR90 with Alinghi colors. Clever in deed.

I agree with you all. Yes, it is the Dogzilla !!!! Veeeery clever, but not clever enough, Alinghi.

Lake Geneva has many places to stay that can offer you bed and breakfast. The Eleven Gables Inn is the most flexible and has many different types of accommodation on offer. The main Inn and rental cabins include bed and breakfast, however a stay at the cottages or Ice house do not. The rates are very reasonable and the Eleven Gables Inn does offer variety of different dining options to guests.

The picture doesn't show wether it has 3 or 2 hulls, though...Maybe there is where the mistery is...
