Report: Alinghi to announce Ras Al Khaimah as 33rd AC venue on Wednesday, 10am CET
It has been widely reported in the media that after a selection process of various months, Alinghi, the 33rd America's Cup Defender, has finally opted for Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), one of the 7 emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates, as the venue of the 33rd America's Cup match.
According to the NY Court decision, the Defender must announce the venue 6 months before the date of the match. With the Alinghi - BMW Oracle showdown taking place on the 8th of February next year, the Swiss must declare the venue before next Saturday, August 8th.
According to very reliable sources we contacted in the UAE, it seems the announcement will be made 3 days earlier, apparently tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 10 am CET (Valencia time).
All this information being unofficial, yet quite reliable, means it is not certain.

Mr. Pierre Orphanidis, you should post a contest (like the ones called What Is It?) asking your readers how long do they think that BMW ORACLE Racing is going to take to present a motion in the NYSC if Alinghi chooses as venue for the 33rd AC the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah instead of Valencia, Spain. Just an idea.

Gotta love a sail boat that cannot race or be competitive in over 8kts breeze. Hence why they picked this windless paradise in the UAE.

Norberto, shut your mouth and read the court's decision...Alinghi has the right to choose the venue even if it's in the north or not. BOR is very upset about this because they're going to be a little ant against a big elephant. AL5 will leave Dogzilla as a big shit...
