AUDI Medcup - Cartagena Trophy - Official Training Day

Good morning from sunny Cartagena, host of the closing event of this year's AUDI Medcup circuit. Valencia Sailing will be covering the regatta during the whole week, starting with today's official training race of the TP52's. We will be onboard Quantum Racing, last year's champion, currently ranked third overall.

In the TP52 series the excitement won't be for the overall leadership, given the 52-point cushion Emirates Team NZ holds over second-placed Matador. Instead, the real battle will take place for the second and third slot. Matador sits only 5 points ahead of Quantum and Aremis that are tied in third. Not far behind, the Portuguese Bigamist could very easily upset the leaders and slip in.

The real drama will be played out in the GP42 series where Islas Canarias Puerto Calero and Roma are tied at the top with 82 points. The two teams are equally matched and it is impossible to make any bets at this stage. The GP42's get into action tomorrow.

Stay tuned for our usual in-depth coverage.
