Justice Kornreich Order on America's Cup venue
The electronic notification system of the New York Supreme Court has just sent out a note that the Order of Justice Kornreich has been made public.
Motion 13 was filed by GGYC, asking the court to declare Ras Al Khaimah invalid as a venue. As per the order, it has been granted, meaning that the emirate cannot be the venue of the America's Cup match next February. Still that was something we already knew since Tuesday since Justice Kornreich ruled from the bench. Nothing new here.
Motion 14 was filed by the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, asking to file an amicus brief. The motion has been granted, meaning that Ras Al Khaimah can file such a document, although we don't see what result it could have.
It seems that it's more of a procedural publication, we aren't any wiser than 2 hours ago.

I can not open the file!!
Says something about her being incompetent and unfit to judge such a case, or something like that
This means that an (incompetent) American judge in an America court has ruled in favour of an American team sailing on a boat named USA trying to bring back the America's Cup to America.
The other team is from a country hiding money from rich Americans in their banks and who wanted to race in a country full of terrorists who whant to destroy America.
I am sure she was fully impartial!
This is going to be a hell of a race... In Valencia!

Totally jaded view, but point made...

Have you ever ventured outside your country? The "Tairists" that you are worried about are figments of your over active imagination. Not everybody in the world is out to get you!
For your education, RAK is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE is an ally of the USA.
USA stands for United States of America. This is the country that you live in.
With the US history of mismanaging the cup over its history you do not deserve to have it back.
Go Alinghi!
Well it appears those that have commented above haven't actually been paying attention. In the recent court hearing the Judge stated security concerns were not a determination for her ruling. Except for the possibility that those with Israel passports and such wouldn't be permitted in RAK, but RAK is not a deed legal venue. Simple as that.
Also, the Judge has made it clear she does not hold GGYC/BMWO in high regard based on her "unsportsman like" comments. It would seem she wants to rule in favor of Alinghi/SNG but the law does not allow her. Sums up Alinghi/SNG's problem right there. They are wrong.
For those that really care to see this resolved on the water the ruling asking for each side to name an "expert", and for those to agree on a third, is a good sign. It means the possibility of a resolution to all the outstanding issues (rules) is a real possibility. Which would lead to this being determined on the water.
For those Alinghi supporters to state the judge is incompetent and the rulings are biased towards an American team from an American court just shows those Alinghi fans aren't so confident in Alinghi after all and might not want to challenge this on the water.
Come on Alinghi-lites get with the program of this being a sailing event of which being fair is core of the sport. The Deed doesn't give the Defender the right to be a unfair ass.
What is SNG going to do now with 3 experts in the house??? It sacks the cards in GGYC favour as these guys are sailors & not lawyers. Please don't whine when the true comes out about what bad sports SNG has been.
If you want an expample of how far SNG is or maybe knows go read SNG statement today. Total BS & doesn't tell the facts. Doesn't even mention that RAK was in the wrong hemi.
