BMW Oracle nominates Bryan Willis as expert in Wednesday court hearing

According to an authoritative source close to the America's Cup challenger, the Golden Gate Yacht Club advised the Société Nautique de Genève on Saturday that they have nominated Bryan Willis as one of the three expert witnesses for the hearing called by Justice Kornreich in the New York Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Alinghi will also have to nominate their expert who, together with Bryan Willis, will have to nominate a third, independent one. We have no information on who Alinghi's expert will be.

Bryan Willis, as his sailing CV clearly shows, is undoubtedly one of the most authoritative experts:

AC 31 (2003) - International Jury Chairman and Chief Umpire
AC 30 (2000) - International Jury Chairman and Chief Umpire

Bryan has been generously paid for 4 years by SNG or its appointed companies and so it is normal now to go against those who made his living. Congratulations Bryan!

So a guy that has over 30 years of sailing jury exp., been involved with the AC since 1992, and also been involved with the VOR, ISAF, and the Olympics and some how because he was apart of AC32 he is a disgruntled former Alinghi employee and he's out for revenge?

Pretty ignorant to make that claim, then again its not hard to be ingorant when you post anonymously on the internet

Willis is the best expert out there & is neutral as per his background confirms. Question is whos left for SNG???

Regardless all will be under oath so none of these experts can screw around on the judges time or with her.

This is going to be all about the history of the AC & sailing. Based upon that SNG is going to get busted once again BUT this time the judge is not going to be so nice to them as she will see SNG for what they are....unfair & liars.

Anon, whether one or more ...

News: this is breaking news at its best.

Qualifications: clearly he is the kind of person the Judge had in mind.

Bias: Bryan has a career in this branch, do you think he will toss that out the window just like that? He will not lie on the stand in a 3 person panel that is for certain. Having met him, I doubt he would lie ever.

WetHog: established moniker carries currency with me. Could find out who he is, or at least more about his point of view.

Spelling and Grammar: please use Word or something if you wish to garner a bit more respect.

Bryan has been paid, Mr Anonymous, to be a judge. Judges are paid to speak the truth, fairly. Why do you think he'll do anything other than speak the truth? If you did your research before you started (grammatically incorrectly) slating him, you'd see that he has made it his life's worth to be a fair and honest judge - from his work with ACM and the Olympics, to his work as a magistrate and a sailing school principal for children.
