Dear Commodore,
Thank you for your letter of 22 December 2009.
Société Nautique de Genève defending yacht will be constructed in Switzerland in compliance with the provision in the Deed of Gift. The Deed only requires the “yacht or vessel” to be constructed in the respective country and does not expressly impose obligations in respect of any of the separate components onboard the yacht or vessel.
We remain willing to meet and discuss to resolve any concerns you may have, although until there is certainty as to what “yacht or vessel” SNG will declare for the Match the issue would appear to be theoretical and moot until then.

The deed, it does not say "sails" have to be made in switzerland and by the way we are banning the building of minarets in our country.
Once again SNG seems to be reading their own version of the Deed, AC history & AC practices. Sadly, SNG will be paying the price of being a failed Trustee & neutral host YC due to the greed & arrogrance of their sailing team. By the time this AC is over SNG & Alinghi are going to be names not spoken about in the sport.
If the sails, mast, foils and everything are "separate components" and not part of the yacht, then what ~are~ they a part of?
Dear Alinghi, please come to the table of rationality and serve yourself a plateful. Admit that molded sails cannot be made anywhere but in the USA and appeal to Oracle for a waiver. Humble pie should be served on the race course, not in court, and after 13 servings (rulings against Alinghi) you should be tired of the bitter taste of your spoiled fruit.
The jury would not be able to make any ruling specific to Alinghi 5. At the most, just a general ruling about whether "yacht" includes sails, appendages and so on.
Ehman wants to re-write rules to best suit his trimaran:
For the Defender "sails" must be part of the vessel or yacht.
For the Challenger the "rudders" do not need to be part of the vessel or yacht.
Ehman, your team members are right when they say: « - The only reason to have Ehman in our team is to keep him from bullshitting our team.»
For the LWL mesurement Rudders are not part of the Yacht as stated by NYC, then why Sails shoud be ???
Maybe because International Laws on this Earth are only US ones ...... I think Alinghi should at first learn that until Amecica will collasp.
Well, actually it seems that America's Cup belongs to America. There is not much to do for any team in the world. If Alinghi cannot build its 3DL sails in the US (a shame, the process has been invented by Swiss engineers ...), than there is no reason to race against Americans. Furthermore, court looks very onesided. Ok, let's give them back their Cup and start something new, but this time without any American team ! And don't tell me anything about differences between AC and DOG match. Behaviour from Alinghi didn't change that much since last Cup which was a success, BOR did ! This is not a competition of reading-between-the-lines and bring-it-to-the-court, if so, then again there won't be other team in the world able to win the AC !
If Ehman wants sails to be part of the vessel, than i am asking me why BOR does not have a mainsail? They have a wing

My god. I knew the Swiss excelled at watchmaking and chocolates. I did not know they were exceptional cheats and liars as well.
EB started this whole process down the path of ruin. By the end of February his failure will be complete.
Very funny approach! Why did they not use this argument against Prada in the last cup or all the other teams - it would have been a easy case for BOR to disqualify all the teams and steal the cup.
Let’s see if the crew belongs to the boat then it could be next question if SLAM produces the drawers for BOR in the US or the swaddling bands for Tom.
Next step in the drama will be the complain against the wing and we will see the next AC in 2099…..

You need to understand that there is a fundamental difference between a AC based on mutual consent and one that is based on the Deed of Gift, which rules in the absence of mutual consent.

Are you talking to God ? Ok, than please ask him why he made you so blind and short minded ? ... shouldn't be that easy in the every day life, is it ?
Cheaters and liars are everywhere and if you call the Swiss by theses names, than you should at least do the same for Americans. Please wake up and grow up, not as an American or European, but as a human and stop this childish behavior !
