Statement from Russell Coutts, CEO of BMW Oracle
[Source: BMW Oracle] Talks in Singapore to settle major issues ahead of the 33rd America’s Cup have broken up. No mutual agreement was reached.
“This is very disappointing and frustrating,” commented Russell Coutts, CEO of BMW ORACLE Racing.
“On three separate occasions during the two days talks there was a final draft of an agreement. GGYC was ready to sign. SNG’s negotiators were prepared to sign, but it seems they were not given permission.”
GGYC would like to thank the negotiating teams – Tom Ehman and Richard Slater for GGYC and Brad Butterworth and Hamish Ross for SNG – for their tireless efforts to reach a solution.
GGYC is also grateful to International Sailing Federation’s representative David Kellett and the chairman of the International Jury David Tillett for the 33rd Match for their helpful involvement in the search for a settlement.

what do you expect when you file another case in new york? not really helpfull was it? you are a saad shadow of your former self!
Put on the table what was turned down by Alinghi so we can all make our own minds up who's right or wrong here.
Be interesting if Butterworth and Ross commented on Coutts is statement.
Can't believe the words of a compulsive liar.
Mindens the only 3dl plant; what about the one in sri lanka. Ggyc/oracle never stop lying!
Looking coward to hearing David tillets view
and i want to say thank you to my family, my manager and my fans
I think Russel is frustrated over his own team lawyer Tom Ehman...
Wings are no Sail!! So I can see very clearly where the problem was and why Brad did not agree!
BOR is in a fare weaker position than Alinghi and they have no idea what Sails Alinghi will use in the match...
Be sure we will be surprised!
50 Mio $ can kill character and attitudes!
Well done Russell
2:12 PM = Get your facts right as GGYC filed AFTER SNG failed 3 times to sign a agreement that was fine for the guys in Singapore but not for someone who wasn't there. EB of course wasn't there.
I agree with the 2:20 PM post: we want to hear what Butterworth and Ross have to say about this. Can you get them to comment?
last time i checked sri lanka wasn't in switzerland either.
BMW ORACLE all i want to say is MAN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! and race alinghi since your using swiss patented technology on your sails just Race stop being so boring and nerdy in court!!!!!
RC, here is a real challenge, get on the boat and sail, or you not paid to get wet??
Russel, you were so good steering an ACC a few years ago. Maybe not a hero, but an example. My coworker and friends and myself were proud of working for you. I even sailed with you. But it seems that nothing remains, but a bad feeling of vengance. What about sailing for once ? How do you feel seeing you in the mirror every morning ? Do your consciousness really agree with your words ?
What a load of crap Coutts. It has been plainly obvious to the sailing world that BMOR arent't ready to race and have been trying to negotiate hard to delay the start date. Grow some balls BMOR and race!!
