TP52 Bigamist leaves Valencia, heads to Cascais

As I've said before, sailing in Valencia is not just about the America's Cup. With exactly 3 months left until the start of the 2010 AUDI Medcup more than two thirds of the TP52 boats call Valencia their home. They are here undergoing modifications in order to meet the new class rules.

The first of the "Valencia" TP52's to have hit the water was Pedro Mendoça's Bigamist 7. She was launched just yesterday, sporting a bowsprit, dual backstays and an additional 150kg in the bulb, and she is currently on her way to Cascais, her home and venue of the first AUDI Medcup event this year.

When we visited the Victory Challenge base on Tuesday afternoon, the Portuguese shore crew was making the final preparations before starting the 800-mile trip to Portugal. According to the latest forecasts, there is a very positive 8-day weather window over the Iberian peninsula and as a result, the Portuguese crew didn't want to miss it.
