America's Cup Valencia press conference: Ask your questions
Greetings from Valencia where the all-important America's Cup press conference will take place tomorrow Monday at 1pm local time. As you can easily see at the top of this website, the press conference will be streamed right here live.
Russell Coutts, CEO of BMW Oracle, and Vincenzo Onorato, president of Mascalzone Latino, will sign the Protocol governing this edition of the world's oldest sports trophy and then will go on making some of the most important announcements so far. The first announcement concerns the year the Cup will take place, the second one will be about the boat to be used and finally, the new Protocol will be made public. I'm sure the potential challengers will be paying close attention to what is announced. Even if the venue of the Cup is not revealed tomorrow they will have plenty of information to digest in the following days.

Dear Pierre,
I really appreciate if you could ask Russell Coutts, on my behalf, if BMW ORACLE Racing has thought about increasing the participation, in events like the America's Cup, of sailors under 30 years of age, just like the Volvo Ocean Race, where is mandatory for every team that enters the competition, to have at least 3 sailors who are younger than 30 years at the time of the race.

Stuart Alexander has metioned that there is going to be established some rule that demands teams to be set up only from nationals of the country the team reprsents. Is that thrue?
Question if catamarans are to be used: Do you think that the use of catamarans might deter some teams from participating in the America's Cup that have traditionally been there? Why or why not?
Russell, now that you have achieved your dream of a worldwide event held in 70 ft catamarans, will you be renaming the America's Cup the World Sailing League?
Who should a sailing centre or club approach with an offer to host a challenger series event?
Russell - will you hand off the Oracle B Squad Sailing Team - now that you have your old mates back in the A Team - to Vincenzo in order that his Mascalzone Latino franchise can put up a good show as a Challenger ? What about some design help ?

- Have you at all discussed the protocol with your fellow future challengers? What have been the inputs you did include in your negotiations with BOR.

- How do you intent to match your objective of making the Cup widely recognised and your affirmation that about 8 teams would be sufficient?
- Historically you have been a big opponent of mikes and cameras on board with justifications such as "faul language going on air".
How do you address this issue in your new vision? What made you change so dramatically?
Pierre, could you please ask the following questions to Russell.
1) What made you choose the time of 1pm cet for a press conference, making it 4am in SF. Not a great consideration for what is supposed to be THE market.
2) Is the name of the CEO of the event management company known?
Why chalenger of record did not spoke with any other vhalengers ?
What will happen with the Louis Vuitton Trophy?
