Video: Ludde Ingvall talks about the Australian challenge in the 34th America's Cup

Ludde Ingvall and Dario Valenza, respectively skipper and project manager of YuuZoo Big Boat Racing, talk about the Australian challenge they submitted for the 34th America's Cup. Despite its length, the video is quite interesting because it allows to see the logic behind the Australian challenge. According to Ingvall we should consider that this challenge has been practically accepted, even if the project lacks any funding. It is surprising that they decide to enter the America's Cup and then start looking for the necessary funds to compete and not the other way round.

VS says: "It is surprising that they decide to enter the America's Cup and then start looking for the necessary funds to compete and not the other way round. "

WHAT is surprising about it? Is it any different from other entries?

So let me get this straight....
The team formally known as BOR have accepted a team with no money and little chance of raising it into a competition that is desperately lacking in numbers?
Didn't Iain Murray say recently that dropping the entry fee was going to mean up to 8 teams that are borderline jumping onboard? The first to 'jump' (a month later)is an unlikely to be funded group of tyre kickers.
Quality.

Ludde's right,20 years ago, only rockstars got a shot at the cup here in Australia. There were heaps of us that had talent, that just never got a chance to try out, and in the end gave up trying for a spot in a syndicate.

Dario Valenza worked briefly for UITG in the 32nd AC. He was let go because he was a complete idiot and ripped people off with his 1 meter model yachts. What goes round comes round Dario.... this challenge is a joke!!

I don't understand the logic behind the "new" America's Cup. Potential "challengers" now claim it's easier to enter.

If it were tough to beat the defender with a conventional monohull yacht why is it easier with a completely new winged multihull that NOBODY knows how to build except Oracle?

Does that mean that someone building bicycles has better chances in the F1 than any other racing circuit?

Why is there all this hatred & resentment against Ingvall's AC34 attempts? Maybe I am missing something but IMO there is nothing wrong in entering a sporting competition and trying to be as good as possible.
In AC32 there were plenty of teams that had no chance of whinning the Cup (including team China, UITG and Shozolooza) but I have never read comparably hateful comments about those teams.
