Right after being crowned winners of Louis Vuitton Act 11, Alinghi held an informal party where Mrs Bertarelli, wife of team owner Ernesto Bertarelli, christened the boat. Afterwards, SUI-91 was put into the water for the usual leak test and then back into the shed. We were not allowed to bring any cameras, which in any case would have proved useless as the boat was covered with the usual "skirts".
If one is to believe the famous sailing superstition, SUI-91 might not have such a bright future as three attempts and two bottles were necessary to christen her.
