Alinghi 5 waiting off Valencia's commercial port

As we wrote in our previous article, Alinghi 5 arrived in Valencia at noon on Sunday aboard a cargo ship. She is currently on the ship, waiting to enter the commercial port.

Our friend, and excellent photographer, Ignacio Baixauli took a picture of the Defender's yacht from the beach. Alinghi 5 will spend Sunday night onboard the ship. She will enter the commercial port on Monday and will be offloaded most probably, on Tuesday.

Don't forget to visit Ignacio Baixauli's website for the rest of photos.

Here's another bunch of photos, taken on Sunday afternoon by our good friend Vicente Iranzo while he was sailing his J110 a mile off the Valencia Yacht Club, with an iPhone. Isn't 21st century technology great??

Dear friends - wish you success! As for BMW - Oraclre litigation battle I can only quote an old russian proverb: "To be idiot – it’s for a time (one can be cured), to be stupid – it’s forever ….." Sorry being rude, but ....

And to be a swiss cheat like EB.....

swiss cheat???? Have you ever met him???? You do not know anything about him and Russell's campaign...

Unfortunately, since EB won't negotiate, LE's only option is is to drag the petulant little brat to court. Things aren't looking so good for EB right now... I guess he still has time to wise up. Should be an awesome race though, or at least the first 5 minutes of it ;-)

Amazing, this time the Alinghi team didn't find it even worthwhile to wrap the boat!

Dear Ramon,
the big question here is who is the idiot and who is stupid

Hmmmmm, seems LE payed Valencia more than EB as Oceanlady is docked already and Cassandra B sill is waiting in front of the harbour................................

@ Ano 08:15

Very simple:
Alinghi is build for sailing outside in rain. It does not need any wrapping

BOR is only build for sailing in the sun and inside. Thats why BOR wrapped its boat. In rain it will melt like chocolate.

Nobody paid nothing, BOR made it better.
Both ships are operated by the same Shipping Agent (Transcoma). Oceanlady is already berthed because they request (and get) the authorization to berth at the port of Valencia before than for Cassandra B; but mainly, because Oceanlady operates in a conventional terminal and Cassandra B in a container terminal.

@ 10:58 AM
not that simple unless the new spine made Alinghi more water resistant :-)
On the trip to RAK Alinghi was wrapped tightly.
My prediction is rather, that the team wanted to save as much time as possible, hence they skipped wrapping. But I may be wrong.

Bmw's wrap job has to do with its black color and keeping it from baking and getting too hot while sitting on the deck of the ship in transit.

The Cheese boat is already white, like a good white NY Cheddar from the state who's Supremes spanked EB 13 times now (and counting) LOL

Alinghi have the experience of shipping their boat once before, BOR do not. Maybe they learnt something from their previous experience?

To Anon @ 2:49pm - its the score on the water that counts. But maybe BOR place more value on the litigation score.

Winning an argument on the internet is like winning at the special olympics.... At the end, you're still a retard...

Wish the races will be greats, that both boats will perform properly, that everyone will have fun in a good sportsman attitude.

I also wish that after the races bothe teams will continue sailing together, just for the fun of sailing the 2 most extraordinary motherf*cking boats ever.
