Breaking news: TP52 CAM sinks off Valencia's coast

This is off the press. The TP52 CAM sank an hour ago, off Valencia's coast while racing in the Trofeo de la Reina Rolex Cup. With waves reaching 2 meters, the bow fell apart causing the TP52 yacht to sink in 10 minutes!!!

Here's a selection of photos from some of the dozens of photographers that rushed to the sinking boat.

I am sorry but on the pics does not look like there were waves 2 meters high. And the report from the GP 42 race says there was 7-8 knts of wind.

was the Prince onboard?

Good pics anyway!

Efectivamente, en las fotos no se ve que el estado de la mar sea de olas de 2 m., parece más bien un fallo de la estructura del casco, lo que podría ser la causa de larotura. Lo importante es que no haya ninguna victima que lamentar.
A seguir navegando españoles

It was only a matter of time if you have seen these things built.

I was sailing there, Prince Felipe was not onboard, waves where no more than 1 meter high (the night before, the wind rose to 30 knots, that was the reason of the long but not very high waves)and there were between 8 and 12 knots.
The hole crew is ok, and it must be said that Noluco Doreste, from TAU boat (whose brother Luis Doreste, and cousin Luis Martínez where both onboard CAM) was one of the first to run the risk and help during the saving process.
Talking bout TP52 safety conditions...I think wouldn´t sail one offshore nowadays...
GO ON FERNANDO AND KIKO, DON´T STOP THE PROJECT, MANY SAILORS VERY MUCH LIKE YOUR SAILING STYLE!
