Alinghi's mast grows taller?

It could very well be just an optical illusion but in a photo of Alinghi 5 returning after Sunday's training session the mast looks suspiciously longer than 2 weeks ago. Any thoughts?

Sounds ridiculous and it could be a complete miscalculation but comparing the two photos, the depth of the top roof structure of veles e vents, the assumed size of Alinghi's mast, I'm getting a mast height of 220feet for the newer photo!!!! Must be wrong!?!

Since the relative position of photographer, building and boat is different in both photographs it is not obvious to me how to compute any difference in mast heights...

3 metres more, yes pierre. They make the section in Switz and add it to the top in Valencia last week.

I don't think it's longer (kind of measured it).

Imagine the modification on the mainsail...

And this just a week before the Cup

Changing the mast (and the sails) one week before the race is a desperate and insane move. Imagine the increase of the loads on the boat, without any chance to measure it (and fix it!!) properly. I hope they didn't do it or we will risk seeing BOR dance around the course alone.

Maybe the first mast is taller now to match the second mast and both are at 58m (191') from the deck?

With all the comments about Pinocchio's nose, one might have to wonder about some of Alinghis statements.......
