BMW Oracle's Aerial Symphony in Valencia

Saturday was a great day in Valencia, even "a banner day for the BMW ORACLE Racing team, which left its mooring in Valencia at 08:30 and didn't return until nine hours later", according to the BMW Oracle website.

The day began with a blast reach under wing sail and headsail in blustery conditions, taking the trimaran USA nearly ten miles offshore. "I think today would have to be our best day in Valencia and to be honest, it would be up there all time, in terms of ticking things off the 'to do' list," said sailing team coach Glenn Ashby (AUS) at the end of the day. "Early on, we sailed in quite a lot of breeze. We had high 20s at times at the top of the mast just before we got going and it was still right up there for the first hour or so."

The America's Cup challenger was lucky enough to have a helicopter following today's training session, providing us with an aerial symphony of spectacular footage.

Here's two more interesting videos from Thursday. If they were indeed shot on January 28th as the opening title indicates, it was the day USA suffered from a minor breakage during the approach to the committee boat. Conditions were very light and I doubt there were more than 6-7 knots of wind in that particular footage.

The best machine my sport has ever seen is worth every dime spent.

LE is the force that brought us this quantum leap in sailing. How can any one not see the passion our friend has for our sport? This yacht is simply a reflection of this dedication. (Thanks).

For years I have known that dragging lead and digging a hole was a waste of energy. Until now I could not see a better device to make and carry way.

This team is unbelievable! I followed them yesterday with a friend of mine. They oly sailed on port because they couldnt go on starboard for some reason. Then when the wind was building to 20 they ran for the coast and hid in a cove until it was safe enough for them to tow home. It then took them 1 hour to park the boat. Best day out for them???? LOL! I had to see for myself how bad they lie and it is obvious now!

Si BMWOR pone los mismos impedimentos y objeciones que hace con Alinghi a "futuros" Challengers of Record eso significa que solo podran participar equipos con velas hechas en USA y en SriLanka. El resto de paises no pueden competir con Nevada para construir sus propias velas y barco segun el CIC.
Deberia haber un boicot del resto de equipos ETNZ,Luna Rossa,Shosholoza,China,Mascalzone....porque en estos momentos BMWOR los esta descalificando a perpetuidad para poder competir en una 34 edicion de la Copa.
En otras palabras, Larry se esta cargando la Copa America con sus pretensiones por estar mal informado e intentar resultados a corto plazo. Peligroso.

Jose de Valencia, this is a Deed of Gift Macth, were there was no mutual consent among the competitors, so they have to follow what the original paper says. On others disputes, defender and challenger reach consent on everything, including type of boat, sails etc. So nothing is going to change in the future, unless there's no mutual consent.

Querido anonimo, pues eso estoy diciendo, que a partir de ahora no va a ver consenso mutuo y se acabo la discusion. BMWOR (como equipo americano que es)quiere volver a la hegemonia de cien años que han mantenido la Copa,poniendo toda serie de trabas y dificultades para que no les pase lo de Australia,Nueva Zelanda y Suiza. Adios resto de equipos.
¿Si no permiten lo de las velas ahora,porque lo van a permitir en la siguiente edicion,en el supuesto que ganen?

...(sigo)Lo suyo habria sido que despues del empastre del CNEV,al salir BMWOR como adalid y salvador de la situacion,hubiera consultado con el resto de equipos de la anterior edicion y haber realizado una LVCup entre todos,para que de ahi saliera el CoR y desafiar al Alinghi.Y no imponerse como un elefante en una cacharreia.Asi lo que ha conseguido es mandar al paro a mas de diez equipos(que es lo que le recrimina la comunidad de la Copa)y un tipo de barco espectacular pero que le va a servir de llavero despues de esta 33,pues nadie le va a seguir en la construccion de semejante trimaran. Por lo menos los anteriores barcos eran mas economicos y podian tener desarrollos sucesivos. Estos monstruitos se van a quedar como piezas unicas de museo, eso si,de alta tecnologia.

another great sailing day for the BOR guys yesterday. This time they didnt even bother to leave their mooring. They must be very confident if they can afford to take a day off sailing 1 week before the cup. sailing conditions were perfect.

4:11. look at the date it was a different day they are sailing on starboard.
sorry mate but your post still reads as if you have your nose firmly lodged where the sun dont shine.
