The photo of the century ??

If you had to choose one sailing photo that represents the, still young, 21st century would it be one of these two? I'm sure we'll have tons of much better and spectacular shots in the following 3 weeks, right here in Valencia.

I would go with a photo of l'Hydroptère. . .could a sailboat go that fast; did man walk on the moon?

The only piece of equipment I can't see in the pictures are the torpedo launchers. Oh yeh, their probably disguised in the bow sprits -

Would be so nice to see way more shots like that instead of PDF's of legal docs!!

@ 3:07

I think you will find that USA17 is further away from the camera, hence it looks smaller. Either that or it is being sailed by midgets (or Alinghi has giants).

Please refer to the TV series "Father Ted". Episode "Hell" from series 2 explains the difference between "small" and "far away".

It's okay. Nice to see them on the water, but hardly the photo of the century. Considering how photogenic the sport is, this is one of the more dull photos I have seen in a while, despite the subject matter.

in the bigger scheme of things, this AC is a tiny blip on the radar, once its over and assuming the next cup is a multi-challenger event, nobody that matters will care about this DoG

This guy and the other NZl guy should be for the next 20 years not allowed to make any race on the water, optimist too!
