America's Cup Jury denies BMW Oracle request for redress

[Source: Alinghi] The ISAF appointed international jury denied BMW Oracle's request for redress regarding measurement of the competing yachts.

The ISAF International Jury for the America's Cup issued an interim decision late Tuesday night rejecting the challenger, BMW Oracle's latest complaint regarding the position and volume of the water ballast onboard the racing yachts during measurement.

“We are pleased that the jury upheld the New York Supreme Court and expert panel decision of November 2009. This is a positive step towards the America's Cup – we are glad that measurement can go ahead as scheduled and that the challenger's request for redress has been denied. With just a few days to go before the first race of the 33rd America's Cup, the team is fully focused on race training and preparations,” said Grant Simmer, Alinghi design team coordinator.

Apparently Russell Coutts wasnt very convincing !
Does the decision mean that a vessel can add or remove later any quantity of water which was on board when the vessel was mesured ?
Strange ! As it seems to contradict the pannel opinion #20.

"Apparently Russell Coutts wasnt very convincing "

Really??? So how come then that Pierre. who was at the hearing IN PERSON (in contrast to you) came to a quite different conclusion. Let me just quote him: "I have to admit that out of all the presentations Russell Coutts made the most convincing one".

@12:47 PM anon,

Let me point out, that all I did was to quote a person, whose integrity is beyond any doubt: Pierre, who operates this website and does a wonderful job with it.

Your response to my post is pathetic (at best) and would suggest an exceptional level of frustration on your side.

It is, by the way, also an issult to the person who I qouted in my post, Pierre. But this may be difficult for you to comprehend.

Get a life, man.

Alinghi loses 3 out of 4 decisions and concedes the 5th. Sounds like yet another Swiss "victory". What do you think Alinghi will say if they lose on the water? Will they tout beating the press boats?
