Latest wind forecast - Sunday 8:17pm UTC

Here's the latest wind forecast and map for Monday 10am, scheduled start of the 1st race of the 33rd America's Cup, courtesy of MeteoSim. Unfortunately, it depicts a much more pessimistic image than the previous one, 12 hours before. The forecast calls for very light westerly winds in an extended area around Valencia and the race committee might have to travel a great distance east to find a stronger breeze (4-6 knots).

As Paul Cayard reports, the breeze will then shift to the south and increase a bit....maybe up to 10 knots. There is a chance the race committee will postpone ashore, waiting for better conditions. Harold Bennett, Principal Race Officer of the 33rd America's Cup, will give an update at 7am Monday morning, Valencia Time.
