I would find this much more appealing if these boats had diesel engine powered, canting keels - why don't they race something modern and up-to-date like the AC guys ?
A 75' version of an RC44 would make a damn good AC boat. They are fast enough without needing a canting keel, as well as being highly maneuvreable. Come on Russell, this should be a no-brainer.
Yes - and if they add a foil providing dynamic lift they can get the extra righting moment and performance without the negative impact to the sporting spectacle of the engine. The technology exists and is proven.
