Ha Ha Ha,

AC72 looks like Alinghi 5

Embarrasing: the video that they showed should have been about the many times that the Defender tried to take a good advantage to properly illustrate the matter.
This is the last day that I waste following this so predictable abuse.

So this is RC 72 Class, for total control of the situation by GOD RC. Be ready for anything else...

I've been involved in AC 32(05 06 07) and I watched the live webcast, my thoughts are
1) in MR the pre start is exciting
2) 60-80% of races ended at the start because the racecourse was tooo long and boat speed too different.
LV trophy with way shorter legs was more open
3) they are going to change the racecourse (no more upwind/downwind but a combination or reaching etc)
4) AC45 is a copy of Extreme sailing
5) Extreme sailing will be raced on AC 45 within 2 years
6) WMRT will be affected
7) I wish them luck finding teams

change is always difficult...

Americas Cup will no longer be a contest between the best sailors...

You cant say the best sailors in the world are sailing the AC when the Kiwis are in the VOR. Where is the best multi-sailor of the world? Looks like Cammas is sailing the VOR as well.

It is some achivement to ruin the greatest event of sailing. Well done Coutts!

The only diffrence to alinghi 5 (except the rig) i see in the balcony for the owner. Exact there where alinghi had its motor.....

A5 also had that Y frame and that is a significant difference between A5 and the AC72.

As for the comments that BMWO has done this in an effort to neutralize its toughest competition in ETNZ and Team Orafice, please. First, Team Orafice isn't a serious challenger, and ETNZ will do its best so long as BMWO gives them financial incentive to join AC34.

Don`t miss the point. This is all about Oracle getting the advantage right from the beginning. The rest of the paraphernalia is just decoration to the decission.

Imaging just as an example that the AC45 that are about to get finished in December were obviously designed from march onwards at least, long before they had the consulations with all designers for that democratic process to choose the right type of boat. The decission was already taken and we wasted all our time at that meeting.

I almost prefer the abused by Alinghi than by BOR, the first one being at least a little more straight and predictable.

AC72= 0,8* (Alinghi 5 + BOR90 minus Y-frame)
